Indian stock markets — both BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) — will remain closed today, April 10, 2025, in observance of Mahavir Jayanti. This holiday is listed in the official trading calendar published by both exchanges earlier this year.
Since Mahavir Jayanti is recognized as a public holiday, there will be no trading in equity, equity derivatives, and SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing) segments. Commodity markets, such as those operated by MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) and NCDEX (National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange), will also stay shut during the morning session. However, trading will resume in the evening session from 5:00 PM onwards.
Markets will reopen for regular operations on Friday, April 11, following the standard schedule.
